Lisa Davis brings more than two decades of experience helping businesses navigate complex legal matters with a focus on data security, privacy, and regulatory issues. She represents companies from various industries in complex commercial disputes, internal investigations, regulatory enforcement actions, compliance, and other crucial legal matters. Lisa has specialized expertise in advising businesses in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries.

In addition to managing a private legal practice, Lisa has played successful roles as general counsel and chief privacy officer for a national healthcare company. She relies on her knowledge of the current business landscape and the latest state and federal laws to help individuals and companies reach their business, product, and operational goals. Her work additionally includes trademark protection, compliance in marketing, and commercial contracting.

Prior to moving to senior in-house roles, Lisa spent 16 years practicing complex commercial litigation and health law at a large national law firm. She began her career there as an associate and was promoted to partner and then equity partner. During her tenure at Big Law, Lisa represented numerous large national pharmacy companies in a variety of areas, including compliance with federal and state regulations, investigations, privacy matters, and litigation. Lisa has successfully argued before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and authored a persuasive amicus curiae brief to the U.S. Supreme Court in the influential case Sorrell v. IMS Health Inc.

Lisa has spent countless hours studying and navigating the state and federal regulations that can determine a company’s future. She is passionate about protecting clients by identifying and eliminating potential business headaches and, when necessary, confronting legal opponents head-on.

Lisa was born and raised in Austin, Texas, where she attended Hyde Park Schools and, later, the University of Texas. As an honors undergraduate, Lisa was a member of the Pi Beta Phi Sorority, proudly served as an Orange Jacket, and was inducted into the Mortar Board honor society. Prior to attending law school at the University of Texas, Lisa taught English Composition at the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education in Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico. There she picked up a love for travel and international cultures.
