About Us
Wittliff Cutter is a close-knit partnership of experienced lawyers who thrive on delivering results for our clients. From our roots as a boutique technology law firm, WC has grown to meet the legal needs of a wide range of clients in numerous industries, including telecommunications, ag-biotech, solar, high-tech manufacturing, financial services, e-commerce, and online advertising and promotions. We represent businesses of all sizes, from startups raising capital to large public and private companies. Our experience across diverse industries and engagements enables us to handle a far wider range of legal issues than most law firms of comparable size.
The partners at Wittliff Cutter have each practiced law for more than two decades and have enjoyed successful careers as federal and state prosecutors, general counsel to startups, partners at national and regional law firms, senior in-house counsel at a Fortune 100 company, and as a Division Chief in the Texas Attorney General’s Office. We have successfully first-chaired many jury trials and large, complex litigation matters, advised publicly traded companies on cutting-edge legal issues, and led large transactions to closure. What sets us apart is the depth of our professional experience, our judgment, and our results-driven approach to meeting our clients’ needs.

Litigation
Wittliff Cutter’s litigators approach each matter as creative problem solvers, distilling complex facts and legal arguments into straightforward narratives that powerfully advocate our clients’ positions. We pride ourselves on the art of trial, with substantial courtroom experience in a variety of disputes, including those involving business torts, contractual disputes, IP infringement, non-competition and non-solicit agreements, shareholder claims, business divorces, and real property covenants. Our goals always begin with the client’s objectives, and our dedicated team will not be outworked, whether in obtaining a successful resolution through agreement or through dispositive motion practice, at trial, or on appeal.
General Counsel
A company’s general counsel is an integral member of its leadership team, providing legal advice and managing legal risk to help ensure the company’s success. For many companies, however, having a full-time general counsel is not practical. With substantial in-house experience, Wittliff Cutter provides high-caliber, cost-effective general counsel services, either as a turn-key external solution, or as a supplement to a company’s existing legal operations.

Technology
Computer technology and digital media have become dominant features of the business landscape, and clients will find Wittliff Cutter’s deep legal experience in these areas to be a strategic asset. Specific areas we frequently support include: privacy and data security, SaaS agreements, patent litigation, ad tech, ed tech, social media promotions, digital forensics, software licensing, advertising network agreements, API agreements, IT management agreements, copyright infringement/DMCA, and breach notification and incident response.
