Wittliff | Cutter was recently recognized on the Top 50 Verdicts in Texas in 2021 list from the publishers of TopVerdict.
The annual listing of the largest jury awards in Texas includes partner John Saba’s victory for Lone Star Technological Innovations LLC’s patent infringement lawsuit against Taiwan-based Asustek Computer Inc., also known as Asus.
The $825,000 verdict in favor of Lone Star is ranked in the 50 highest verdicts in Texas during the past year. The jury issued its decision last May following five days of trial in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. Mr. Saba and other members of the Lone Star legal team presented evidence that Asus relied on a Lone Star patent to build computer monitors and projectors without paying any royalties.
In addition to ruling in favor of Lone Star on patent infringement claims, the jury also rejected allegations from Asus that Lone Star’s patent was invalid or unenforceable.
In addition to Mr. Saba, the team representing Lone Star included Bradley Liddle, Joshua Bennett, and Monica Litle of Carter Arnett PLLC; and John Lee of Banie & Ishimoto.
