Wittliff Cutter has been named a 2021 Best Place for Working Parents™ by Early Matters Greater Austin, a coalition of business leaders founded by United Way for Greater Austin and E3 Alliance. Selection criteria include policies that the firm has implemented to support and foster the growth of working parents, such as paid parental leave, telework, flexible schedules, and other benefits. “This recognition is extremely important to us,” said Managing Partner Elect María Amelia Calaf. “We are a firm made up of parents, many with young children. As the mom of three children, I have seen first hand how firm culture and policies affect our ability to attract and retain talent.”
The award hits particularly close to home for many of the firm’s attorneys, who have been juggling young children during the global pandemic. “What I have loved about our firm since day 1 is that every partner and nearly every other person affiliated with the firm is a parent,” said employment law partner Karen Vladeck. “As a working mom, it is so reassuring to know that not only does our firm embrace the lifestyle of a working parent but also understands exactly where I am coming from when I have a 2 year-old crying in the back of a conference call. I am so proud of this recognition and to see that so many other businesses in Austin are taking the responsibility to embrace working parents seriously.”
