Wittliff | Cutter partner Asra Syed and of counsel Sherri Wilson and have been named to the 2023 list of Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch, published by The Best Lawyers in America. Asra was recognized for her work in commercial litigation, while Sherri was selected for both intellectual property law and litigation – intellectual property.

To compile their list of the country’s top attorneys, Best Lawyers uses a five-step process that begins with nominations, and is followed by peer review, feedback, an eligibility check and finally the results announcement. Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch employs the same methodology to honor attorneys who are early in their careers.

“Asra and Sherri are impressive attorneys who have already made great strides in the careers, and we expect much more from them in the years to come,” said Jennifer Rappoport Colimon, the firm’s managing partner-elect. “As the title of the award suggests, we’ll certainly keep watching.”

Asra maintains an active litigation and counseling practice in which she couples her skills as a litigator with the savviness of a business lawyer. She has represented clients in the alcoholic beverage, private equity, fashion, fitness, beauty care, and commercial real estate industries. She has successfully litigated disputes related to mergers and acquisitions, securities, corporate governance, trademark infringement, business torts, and other commercial actions.

An electrical design engineer prior to practicing law, Sherri is a registered patent attorney and focuses on patent, trademark, and copyright law, with an emphasis on due diligence, litigation, prosecution, and licensing of intellectual property. She also provides counsel to companies in connection with management and protection of intellectual property, as well as strategic legal advice on other technology-related matters.
